Renato Porto, Director, ANVISA
Director of the Brazilian National Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA), nominated from the Agency’s permanent staff. Lawyer graduated from Centro Universitario de Brasília, specialist in Civil Procedural Law (2007) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo and Specialist in Health Surveillance (2011) at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation.
With his admission to ANVISA, he became a Regulatory Specialist, with skills in topics related to regulation and state action models. He has perfected his abilities in regulatory analysis, management and compliance.
Prior to his appointment as Director, he was responsible for different technical and managerial functions and positions: technical advisor to the Board of Directors of the Agency, legal advisor of the General Office of Drugs, coordinator of diligence and analysis of appeal to the General Office of Medicines. As Director, he was responsible for the Directorate of Sanitary Regulation – DIREG and for the Directorate of Sanitary Authorization and Registration – DIARE.
He usually promotes actions and presents talks and teachings (internal and external) on the subject of modern models of state intervention.
