Marco Krieger, Vice-president of Health Production and Innovation in Health, Fiocruz
Mr. Marco Krieger has a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Paraná (1987), a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1989) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1997). He is currently the Vice-President of Health Production and Innovation in Health, Fiocruz, an institution linked to the Brazilian Ministry of Health (Brazil). Previously, he was Deputy Director of Technological Development, Prototyping and Production at the Carlos Chagas Institute, Fiocruz (2009-2017), and Technical Coordinator of the Fiocruz production facility for Nucleic Acid Diagnostics. He has experience in Genetics, with emphasis on Molecular Parasitology, working mainly on the following topics: Trypanosoma cruzi, gene expression, functional genomics, cell differentiation and use of Molecular Biology techniques for the development of diagnostic tests. He is the author of several publications (159, h index 27), including 6 patents.
