Ever since we hosted our first BIO Latin America Conference, we have worked hard to offer the best industry gathering for innovation and collaboration on biotech and life sciences in Latin America. Over the years, we have brought together nearly 3,000 attendees (including thought leaders, policy-makers, entrepreneurs and high-level executives), from around the globe, to debate trends and challenges, access innovative companies, conduct business meetings and discover new connection opportunities. We are very proud of the influence that the BIO Latin America conferences have on the life sciences market, and we thank all the sponsors, partners and participants that made this possible.
We are experiencing one of the most complicated moments in the world’s history. With the occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic, our lives have changed in ways we could have never expected. Like you, we are navigating a daily and rapidly evolving situation resulting from the novel coronavirus, and the health and safety of our partners, attendees and employees remains our number one priority.
As a result, we have decided to cancel the 2020 edition of the BIO Latin America Conference. In a scenario full of uncertainty, we made this decision based on the data we have today and based on the responsibility we have with an entire community. By making this decision, we hope to minimize the negative impacts of this crisis.
At the same time, progress in science and technology has never been so essential. We still believe that through the sharing of knowledge and by cultivating strong global relationships, innovators around the world can collaborate on R&D projects and develop cutting edge biotech solutions. Our efforts will continue to be focused on contributing to the innovative development of the life sciences sector and, thus, we are planning other ways for our community to stay together. Therefore, we kindly invite you to discover more about the many initiatives of BIO and Biominas and how we can all work together. Follow us on social media and access our websites to keep updated with the latest news.
We believe that humanity will overcome this challenging situation and look forward to welcoming you to the next edition of BIO Latin America Conference in 2021. Stay tuned for more information, and, meanwhile, stay home and stay safe.
